If you're a new user of Wix and you're confused about which hosting plan you need, don't worry. We've all been there. In this article, I'll be explaining what's included in each hosting plan and the added subscriptions you might need to get the most out of your website.
TLDR: A Business Basic plan for websites needing to accept online payments, Unlimited plan for everything else. An Ascend business tools subscription might be needed if you want to use additional marketing tools.
At the time of writing this article, there are 7 different hosting plans. Yes 7! From the cheapest plan, as the cost increases, more features are added. You can either pay monthly or annually and naturally, paying annually is cheaper. These prices are for the standard Wix editor and do not include websites made with EditorX which is more expensive (and not for the faint-hearted).

With every plan, you will be able to add features to your website like an online blog, a booking system, an event registration system, a membership area for visitors and even an online store. The caveat is that online payments can only be accepted for business plans (plan 5, 6 or 7). So your amazing event registration system might be fine for a free event, or a free membership area would be great, but without accepting online payments these features are useless for a lot of business websites.
If you are sure you won't need to take online payments, I highly recommend Plan 3: Unlimited as the unlimited bandwidth is very valuable! If you do require online payments, my recommendation is Plan 5: business basic unless your website is a huge online store, in which case Plan 6 might be best suitable for the additional storage space.
Plan 4 and 7 in my opinion, are not worth the additional cost. The priority customer care, although a nice feature, does not mean you won't be met with amazing customer service from Wix on their other plans if you have a problem. Plus if us here at Wix Dr were to develop your website, we would identify and handle any issues so you wouldn't even need to think about it.
Additionally, for other business tools you may require an Ascend subscription. A free subscription of Ascend is automatically installed on every Wix website and means you can send invoices (although to accept payments online you will need at least a business basic Wix subscription), send marketing campaign emails and set up automation. When you upgrade to a paid Ascend plan, there are options to remove the Wix branding from these tools and increase the monthly allowance of email campaigns.
